Groundbreaking Case: Father Suing Clinic Over Aborted Child – by Amy Schlichter

A groundbreaking case is being filed in Alabama after a woman aborted her unborn child despite the baby’s father’s wishes for her to keep the baby.

Ryan Magers, the father of the child, is suing the Women’s Center for Reproductive Alternatives after they provided medical abortion pills to his pregnant ex-girlfriend despite his adamant pleas against the abortion.

Currently, in the United States, it has been ruled that a father has no rights over his child if the child is unborn. A woman can get an abortion without the father’s consent or without even notifying him of the procedure.

This lawsuit could change that and set a precedent for paternal rights over unborn children.

A parent or guardian is able to file a lawsuit on their born child’s behalf and has the right to represent their interests.

This case assumes that unborn children have the same rights as those who are already born, allowing the baby to be represented by his/her father.

TIME Magazine says this about the case:

An Alabama probate judge granted Magers’ petition to represent the estate of the fetus, which the suit calls “Baby Roe.” But according to WHNT, the court papers do not make it clear that “Baby Roe” was an aborted fetus.

Magers is reportedly seeking a jury trial.

Brent Helms, the attorney for Magers and “Baby Roe,” says the case breaks legal ground. “This is the first estate that I’m aware of that has ever been opened for an aborted baby,” Helms told ABC affiliate WAAY 31.

When a woman has an abortion, so many people have to live with the loss of a loved one. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and fathers all miss out on the joy of a precious life.

And the murdered baby doesn’t get to live at all. She suffers a gruesome death by suction, starvation, or poison. Her God-given right to live is stripped away, while people fight over their right to kill her.

Baby Roe should’ve been protected at the moment of conception, and I’m glad her father is standing up against the abortion industry.
